My Walk to the Blue Lakes!

I want to tell you about a super special walk I did. It was called Gokyo Valley Trekking. It was my very first time going to such high mountains, and wow, it was like walking into a dream with bright blue lakes! I felt like a happy explorer finding new treasures.

My trip started with a small plane ride to a place called Lukla. The runway was on a hill! Then, I walked and walked. I saw nice Sherpa people in their villages. They always smiled. I saw yaks too, big fluffy animals carrying bags. They had bells that went jingle, jangle. I walked past prayer flags that danced in the wind.

After some days, I started seeing the lakes. Oh, they were so blue! They looked like shiny jewels. People say there are six main lakes there. (Many travel guides say this). The biggest one is called Dudh Pokhari. That means "Milk Lake," but it was so clear and blue, not milky! I just wanted to sit and look at them all day. I saw some ducks swimming in one of the lakes. It was so quiet and calm.

One day, I climbed a hill called Gokyo Ri. It was quite high, about 5,357 meters (that's like 17,575 feet tall!). (Trekking maps show this height). From the top, I saw HUGE mountains. I saw Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world! And other giant mountains too. One was Cho Oyu. It is super tall: 8,188 meters (that's 26,864 feet) high! (Lots of climbing books say this). I felt so tiny looking at them, but my heart felt so big and happy.

This walk was not always easy. Sometimes my legs were tired. But seeing those blue lakes and giant mountains made me forget all that. The air was so fresh. The stars at night looked so close, like I could almost touch them. It was simple and beautiful. I learned that walking and seeing nature makes me feel very good inside.

My Gokyo Valley Trekking trip was one of the best things I have ever done. The blue lakes were like magic. The tall mountains were like strong kings. If you like to see beautiful things and feel happy and strong, maybe you would like this walk too. I will always remember the pretty blue lakes and the big, snowy mountains.
